About Me

Hi, I’m Matthew Phillips, founder of R&M Elite Dog Training. I've been working with dogs since 2017 — starting in university by volunteering at local shelters, then later offering dog walking and sitting services for owners in my area. Over the years, that hands-on experience evolved into a deep passion for behaviour, structure, and communication. In 2024, I took the leap to launch R&M Elite Dog Training professionally — with one clear mission: to help owners build functional, lasting relationships with their dogs.

My approach is built on a balanced training philosophy. I believe dogs thrive in a clearly structured environment where expectations and consequences are consistent. It’s not about dominance — it’s about leadership, trust, and clear communication. I specialise in helping owners struggling with serious behavioural issues like reactivity, aggression, or resource guarding. My goal is simple: to give you the tools to take control, reduce stress in your home, and enjoy the kind of calm, reliable companionship every dog owner deserves.

Meet Roxy

Roxy is my 4-year-old German Shepherd — and my living example of what’s possible with the right training. She came to me and my family with significant anxiety and leash reactivity. Through structure, consistency, and off-leash training, she’s become calm, responsive, and completely trustworthy around people, dogs, vehicles — everything. Today, she walks off-lead through public spaces and responds instantly to commands, no matter the distraction.

Roxy isn’t just my dog — she’s my partner, my proof of concept, and my daily reminder of why this work matters.
